What to cut / what to add

These swaps keep the graveyard game plan intact while shifting resources toward earlier setup, more focused card selection, and board protection. Terra already mills two cards at the beginning of combat on your turn, so the goal is to make those graveyard resources useful sooner rather than wait for expensive payoffs. Even a creature Terra can return needs to justify its slot: Cyan, Vengeful Samurai is cut to trim an overstocked seven-drop slot. Together, the changes prioritize consistency and earlier plays over extra top-end threats, without asking the deck to become something else.

    Cut

    • Snort

      Summon: Esper Valigarmanda

    Add

    • Entomb

      Entomb

Entomb turns one mana into the exact creature or Anger setup Terra wants in the graveyard.

    • Animate Dead

      Animate Dead

Animate Dead provides comparable reanimation for four less mana.

    • Victimize

      Victimize

Rise is a reanimation payoff, but Victimize is cuttable here because it returns two targets much earlier while supplying a sacrifice trigger.

    • Buried Alive

      Buried Alive

Buried Alive loads three tailored reanimation targets instead of offering narrow temporary interaction.

    • Black Market Connections

      Black Market Connections

Black Market Connections supplies repeatable cards and Treasures rather than a slow one-shot cantrip rock.

    • Panharmonicon

      Panharmonicon

Panharmonicon doubles the deck's many creature and artifact enter-the-battlefield payoffs.

    • Sword of Hearth and Home

      Sword of Hearth and Home

Cyan is a Terra-cheatable payoff, but Sword adds repeatable blink and land ramp while trimming an overstocked seven-drop slot.

    • Imperial Recruiter

      Imperial Recruiter

Imperial Recruiter finds Priest of Fell Rites, Stitcher's Supplier, Millikin, or other key low-power creatures.

    • Flawless Maneuver

      Flawless Maneuver

Flawless Maneuver protects the creature-heavy board from wipes at no mana with Terra in play.

    • Faithless Looting

      Faithless Looting

Faithless Looting cheaply filters draws, discards reanimation targets, and works again from the graveyard.

    Revival Trance FAQ

    Frequently Asked Questions

It’s worth considering if you like creature-heavy graveyard decks with a combat requirement. Out of the box, Terra supplies repeatable milling and a way to return creatures with power 3 or less, giving the deck a clear recurring-value plan. Its weakest points are its crowded expensive slots and less focused setup and interaction. The roughly $87 of swaps on this page address those weaknesses while preserving the same game plan.
Terra, Herald of Hope leads the deck. At the beginning of combat on your turn, she mills two cards and gains flying until end of turn. Whenever she deals combat damage to a player, you may pay {2}; when you do, you return a target creature card with power 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
The ten additions total $86.70 at the supplied prices. This is a focused ten-card swap package rather than a full rebuild.
Leave {2} available if you want to use her return ability after she deals combat damage to a player. Her target must have power 3 or less, and it returns tapped. Milling happens at the beginning of combat on your turn, so you can see those new graveyard cards before deciding how to attack.
