What Bello, Bard of the Brambles does
Bello, Bard of the Brambles turns your qualifying artifacts and enchantments into hasty, indestructible 4/4 attackers that draw cards when they hit players.
During your turn, your non-Equipment artifacts and non-Aura enchantments with mana value 4 or greater become Elemental creatures while keeping their other types and abilities. That lets you build around useful permanents rather than filling every creature slot with dedicated attackers. Your mana sources and ongoing effects can contribute to combat, and each one that connects replaces itself with another card.
The appeal is getting several jobs out of the same board. You can spend mana developing your engine, then immediately attack with the new pieces. Indestructible makes ordinary combat damage less threatening, while Garruk's Uprising supplies trample to help damage reach players. The catch is that this transformation only lasts during your turn and depends on Bello staying around. You need to balance developing your board with keeping your commander available.
How Bello, Bard of the Brambles plays
Early on, develop your mana and make sure you can cast Bello alongside your larger permanents. Farseek and Skyshroud Claim find lands, helping you keep mana development separate from your eventual attackers. Don't keep a hand full of expensive pieces without a way to reach them.
In the middle turns, deploy qualifying artifacts and enchantments, then attack immediately through Bello's haste. Look for players you can connect with rather than trading attacks aimlessly. Each attacker that damages a player gives you another card.
Win through repeated combat backed by Garruk's Uprising's trample and Warstorm Surge's damage. Use removal to clear awkward blockers, and damage-based wipes to reduce opposing creature boards before attacking.

Synergy pieces
Nature's Claim
Destroys an artifact or enchantment that's getting in your way; its controller gains 4 life.
Gilded Lotus
Makes three mana of one color, but when Bello animates it, you'll often choose between tapping it for mana and attacking.
Hedron Archive
Provides two colorless mana or sacrifices itself for two cards, giving you options beyond attacking with it.
Chain Reaction
Deals damage to every creature based on the battlefield's creature count, while Bello's animated permanents have indestructible on your turn.
Warstorm Surge
Turns your creatures entering into damage, including qualifying permanents that enter as creatures while Bello's effect applies.
Skyshroud Claim
Finds up to two Forest cards and puts them onto the battlefield without instructing you to tap them.
Guardian Project
Rewards nontoken creatures entering, including Bello-animated permanents, provided its same-name checks are satisfied.
Staples in these colors
Blasphemous Act
Gets cheaper as the creature count rises and deals 13 to every creature, which your animated permanents can withstand through indestructible.
Farseek
Finds a Plains, Island, Swamp, or Mountain card tapped to help you build toward your larger plays.
Beast Within
Destroys any target permanent, leaving its controller a 3/3 Beast you'll need to account for in combat.
Chaos Warp
Shuffles a troublesome permanent into its owner's library, with the risk that their revealed top card becomes a replacement permanent.
Garruk's Uprising
Gives your creatures trample to help Bello's combat-damage triggers connect, and can draw a card when it enters if you control power 4 or greater.

Sample decks
Budget build (~$47)
For the budget build, use Farseek and Skyshroud Claim to establish mana, then let Hedron Archive and Gilded Lotus serve as both resources and potential attackers. Garruk's Uprising helps your 4/4s push damage through blockers, while Warstorm Surge adds damage as creatures enter. Keep Beast Within, Chaos Warp, and Nature's Claim for permanents that actually prevent profitable attacks. Chain Reaction and Blasphemous Act can clear opposing creatures, but Bello doesn't grant himself indestructible, so plan for the commander to die too. If combat stalls, Hedron Archive's sacrifice ability gives you another route to cards rather than leaving all your draw dependent on connecting.

Upgraded build (~$483)
For the upgraded build, build your turns around Bello, Guardian Project, and Warstorm Surge. With Bello active on your turn, qualifying permanents enter as creatures, letting Project draw cards when its name checks pass and Surge deal damage based on their power. Simply beginning your turn with those permanents already in play won't trigger either enchantment. Use Hedron Archive and Gilded Lotus to fund additional plays when mana matters more than another attacker. Garruk's Uprising helps the combat plan connect. Keep Beast Within, Chaos Warp, or Nature's Claim available for obstacles instead of committing every resource to a larger board.
